TTMAC Bi-Annual Sale Of Children's Used Clothing,Equipment and Toys

The Spring and Fall sales feature thousands of gently used items for sale and provides an opportunity for members to recycle things their children have out-grown. Members are permitted into the Sale two hours prior to the public.

The Sale guidelines are adopted for the benefit of all members who are selling their items, as well as for members and the public who are attending and purchasing items at the sale. They also provide an outline for the immense amount of organising that goes into the sale and to help ensure that the payouts to members and the volunteers who work at the sale get the greatest amount out of the Sale.

What to expect as a first-time Sale-goers:
As a first time Clothing Sale shopper there are some hints and things you should know.

Be prepared. With hundreds of member arriving with you and lots of items at the sale it can be overwhelming.

  1. Make a list of items you are looking for prior to arriving at the sale.
  2. Bring a laundry basket or hamper to pile things in while you shop.
  3. Don't bring children/babies with you if you can avoid it. There are lots of temptations for little hands. You must watch your children closely - the sale is not child-proofed.
  4. If you are looking for something and can't find it - ask a volunteer where plaid aprons
  5. Please return your unwanted items to the table where you found them, or give them to a volunteer. This helps members receive their maximum proceeds.
  6. There is NO haggling over prices.
  7. Any items without tags or tags that do not match will NOT be sold.

REMEMBER NO CAR SEATS, CRIBS, PLAYPENS OR BIKE HELMETS AS THEY ARE LIABILITY ISSUE.

TWINS, TRIPLETS AND MORE ASSOCIATION OF CALGARY IS NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR LOST, DAMAGES OR STOLEN GOODS, MEMBERS SELL AND SHOP AT THEIR OWN RISK.

Parents of multiples have always known raising multiples was a different experience. Back in 1970, five women responded to a newspaper advertisement that asked if others would like to share the joys, tears and frustrations of raising twins. Since then our society has been known by many names, but has continued to serve the primary purpose of that initial gathering.

The society incorporated in 1971 under the name Calgary Twin and Triplet Club. The name next became Calgary Parents of Multiple Births Association (CPOMBA). In 2001 we changed our name to Twins, Triplets and More Association of Calgary (TTMAC) to identify the purpose of our club more clearly.

A non-profit organization made-up of parents supporting parents, TTMAC includes 500 families with multiples within and beyond Calgary's city limits. Our mandate remains to provide support to parents of multiples on issues regarding multiple-birth children.

Society membership benefits include:

  • New Parents' Seminars
  • An extensive library
  • Holiday celebrations
  • Playgroups in two locations
  • Bi-Annual Sales of Children's Used Clothing, Equipment and Toys (held in the Spring and Fall at the Bowness Community Association)
  • A list of discounts from local merchants and service establishments
  • Ten issues of our official newsletter: "Multiplicity"

TTMAC divides the city and surrounding areas into zones to make it easy for our members to meet other parents who live close-by. Each zone hosts monthly coffee parties. These fun and informal get-togethers give our members an opportunity to get out without children, share stories, ask questions and support one another. Meet us each month to learn more about the challenges and blessings of being a parent of multiples as well as to enjoy your multiples and the friendships that abound in TTMAC.

You'll also find specialized support for various situations, including:

  • Neo-Natal Intensive Care
  • Breastfeeding and Bottle-feeding
  • Special Needs
  • Bereavement
  • Single Parents
  • Triplets
